QI versus Research article 1 stars

submitted by Greg Ogrinc 11 years ago

Description

This article is a description of a tool that improvers, researchers, administrators, and IRBs can use to evaluate a proposal and determine whether is a QI (and thus does not require IRB oversight) or has elements of research (and does require IRB oversight.)

The tool is derived from the SQUIRE guidelines (www.squire-statement.org).

Several participants at the QI-IQ conference on Nov 23 had inquiries about this issue.  This is one tool that may be helpful.
