STAB GERMS: Study Testing Alcohol-Based Gel Efficacy for Reducing Microbial Spread 0 stars

submitted by Shelley Sanders 11 years ago

Description

Adding alcohol gel dispensers in a step-wise fashion to clinic exam rooms and hallways increased the number of hand hygiene events per patient seen.

Pearls:

1) Weighing the soap and alcohol dispensers daily was laborious but likely fairly accurate.

2) Step-wise introduction of an intervention is a good way to show a dose-response association and tests for decay to baseline performance over time.
