Adding alcohol gel dispensers in a step-wise fashion to clinic exam rooms and hallways increased the number of hand hygiene events per patient seen.
Pearls:
1) Weighing the soap and alcohol dispensers daily was laborious but likely fairly accurate.
2) Step-wise introduction of an intervention is a good way to show a dose-response association and tests for decay to baseline performance over time.
